What Should You Bring?

Pack light. Bring intent.

We’ll provide the lights, studio equipment, and model textiles. You bring the camera you trust and, if you’d like, a few pieces you’ve been meaning to photograph. Isn’t that a better way to learn?

Camera

A DSLR or mirrorless body works brilliantly, and beginners can still use a capable smartphone on selected classes.

Lenses

A macro lens around 90mm or longer is ideal for fabric detail. A standard zoom is a useful backup too.

Notebook

Bring notes, sketches, or shot ideas. Those tiny decisions often make the final image feel polished.

Everything else

Lighting gear, studio props, and textile samples are supplied on site, so you can focus on composition and texture.

Frequently Asked Questions

A few things people ask before they book

Still wondering about the fit? That's normal.

Not at all. We teach from the ground up, with clear demonstrations and plenty of one-to-one guidance. Experienced photographers are welcome too, especially if they want to sharpen lighting and fabric texture work.

Let us know as soon as you can. If there’s space on another date, we’ll do our best to move your place across without fuss. Why leave a seat empty when a small date change can solve it?

Most open workshops are suitable for adults and older teens. For younger learners, we recommend private tuition or a family booking so we can tailor the pace and setup safely.

Absolutely. Many learners start with a foundation class and then continue into composition, lighting, or texture-focused sessions. That progression works well, because each course builds on the last.

Yes. Private lessons are a great option if you’ve got a specific textile project, a small team, or a portfolio deadline. We’ll shape the session around your goals, not the other way around.
